SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

Our Social Responsability practice renders pro bono services for projects with significant social impact, selected based on their importance for the community and on their capacity to promote democratic principles.

In the course of our brief history, we have defended, at no charge, entities aligned with our core values: liberty, respect of differences and appreciation of culture as a tool for emancipation.

These are some major examples:

Advice to the Lage Park School of Visual Arts - EAV. In 2018, Palma Guedes Advogados supported the Queermuseu exhibition, combating censorship and protecting freedom of artistic expression in Brazil.

Support to the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) Women's Collective in situations of abuse and bullying in academia. Our administrative and court victories in these cases have had an important pedagogical effect on gender issues in the university environment.

In 2018, we provided legal guidance to Transparency International on various public and corporate law issues regarding the organization and governance of funds and other remediation instruments used in the fight against corruption.

General and litigation advice to the Museum of Tomorrow in 2016 and 2017, when the partnerships that allowed its later creation and development were being implemented.

Legal guidance to the Brazilian Children's School of Arts (Escolinha de Artes do Brasil), traditional Rio de Janeiro non-profit arts society that teaches arts to underprivileged children and adolescents and gives scholarships to young public school students.
